THD celebrates Love Data Week

Love Data Week (LDW) is an international week of action focusing on research data and research data management (RDM). Under the motto “Where's the Data?”, Love Data Week will be celebrated worldwide from February 9 to 13, 2026, with numerous events on a wide variety of topics. At THD, extensive information on RDM can be found on the library's website under Open Science, in the Open Data and Research Data Management (RDM) section, and in the wiki.

The THD will also soon have its own institutional Zenodo community. Zenodo is a generic (i.e., non-subject-specific) open science repository operated by CERN in Switzerland that allows a wide range of publications by researchers worldwide (not limited to CERN members). Use is free of charge. In order to map and bundle the publication output of a specific community (a community can be, for example, a project or research group, but also entire institutes, departments, or universities or colleges), so-called communities can be created in Zenodo.

In the LDW event “Zenodo Community Curation Policies: Cornerstones for Strategy-Driven Design of Institutional Communities”, we outline the path to a transparent and clear curation policy—from defining target groups and documents to issues of data access and quality assurance to organizational anchoring. Based on the 5W2H method, we discuss workflows, stakeholder constellations, and strategic options that support universities in setting up their own institutional communities.

The presentation is aimed at stakeholders from research, FDM, libraries, and university strategy who want to use Zenodo as a building block for an open and FAIR publication landscape.
