Maa — a Jamini Roy -style painting from West Bengal, India

‘Maa’ painted in the style of Jamini Roy, an artist from West Bengal, India, who drew the traditional folk painting of Bengal: ‘Patachitra’ — simple lines, flat earth colours, and eyes drawn a little larger than the face, expressive enough to carry the whole painting. This is an ode to all mothers, but the two figures are my mother and me. She is in her saree, I am in my dress, small in front of her and held in her embrace. At our feet sits our cat, who loves nothing more than fish — fittingly, since a cat with its catch is one of Roy's best-loved motifs.

Inspired by traditional folk art (Lippen Art) and reimagined for the modern world, this handcrafted artworks created using 80 –85% sustainable materials  through clay, mirrors, color, and texture. Each piece celebrates cultural heritage while embracing contemporary design with environmental consciousness and expressing human emotions.

These handmade accessories are crafted with Japanese Miyuki Delica beads, carefully woven bead by bead with attention to detail and color. Each piece combines traditional beadwork techniques with a contemporary, minimalist aesthetic. The accessories are designed and handmade with the intention of creating unique, wearable pieces that bring together craftsmanship, creativity, and individuality.
